In Conversation: Suffrage in Stitches

  • Wellington Museum 3 Jervois Quay Wellington, Wellington, 6011 New Zealand (map)

In Conversation: Suffrage in Stitches – one panelist shares a research story involving suffrage, bigamy and burial.

‘Doing family history is about the personalities and stories rather than just dates - who gave birth to whom and who died when. I felt I got to know the person I researched and something about the times in which she lived and how this may have impacted on her life choices.’

Knowing only the name of her chosen suffragist Christine Richardson set about getting a sense of Elizabeth’s life and times.  During this conversation Christine will talk about how with no particular knowledge or experience of researching family history and using freely available no cost resources she was able to round out Elizabeth’s story.

Christine is available to talk to small groups of up to ten people at these times:

  •  Sunday 18 August 2:00pm, 3:00pm

  • Saturday 24 August 2:00pm, 3:00pm
