Vinnies’ food bank exists to support Wellington families and whanau, as well as individuals, who are struggling to put food on the table.
Choice-based food bank
When a person accesses food support, they are given a shopping list of items and can choose what they would like.
Available to all communities
Our service is available to all the communities within Wellington City Council area.
Meet sociocultural needs
This model respects people’s dignity when accessing charity services and helps us to meet sociocultural needs.
Decreasing food waste
The choice-based food bank allows people to make their own choice of food, therefore reducing food waste.
Our food bank need these the most now
Spreads- jam, peanut butter, honey
Toothpaste and toothbrush (kids and adult)
Shampoo and conditioner
Sauces- pasta, curry
Cereals – weetbix, cornflakes, muesli
Healthy snacks – crackers, dried fruit, nuts
Cleaning products – dishwashing liquid, laundry powder, multipurpose spray, toilet cleaner, cloths
How to donate
Individuals
You can drop-off donations directly to any of our op shops around Wellington (during shop hours only please)
