What does Vinnies do?

Vinnies provides welfare and support services to anyone in the Wellington area. These services are run by professional staff and supported by dedicated volunteers.

As a charity and NGO, these services rely on the nine Op Shops to raise the funding needed to continue supporting Wellington communities and their people.

Our Services:

Access to free clothing, furniture and home-ware

When someone moves into stable housing, we make sure they have what they need to make it a home.

Inclusive, sustainable sewing studio

Vinnies Re Sew: Based above the Kilbirnie op shop, this initiative re-purposes the textile waste from Vinnies Op Shops while creating meaningful activity for the community.

Our members visit people in their homes, hospitals and nursing homes to help find the most appropriate response to their needs and simply to be a friend.

Supported Employment

Paid employment for people with intellectual disabilities.
